NMR Sign-Up Rules

Resources
Welcome to the Stefano Chimichi's NMR Facility Sign-up guidelines page. The facility is available for use to all faculty, post-doctoral researchers, and graduate and undergraduate students. The high demand for instrument time for both short-term and long-term experiments requires that specific time slots be available for users. The purpose of these rules is to ensure that the instruments are accessible for all users. Below you will find the rules for all instruments.

General Sign-up Rules for All Instruments:
  • A user may have only one outstanding reservation on a given instrument. However, users may have outstanding reservations on multiple instruments as long as there is only one per instrument.
  • Users must make reservations using their own account. Reservations for other accounts including accounts from other members of the same group is not appropriate.
  • If a user reserves an overnight time slot, that user is responsible for properly exiting their session (i.e. removing their sample, logging-off, etc.).
  • If performing an experiment at temperatures other than ambient, ample time must be allowed for the probe to equilibrate to room temperature prior to the next user's time slot.
Requests must be made by sending e-mail to Prof. S.Chimichi: the user should indicate the instrument and probe required, the time and the preferred day and timing. Normal requests should be sent a week in advance.

Assigned slots on each machine can be viewed on www.chimichi.it/riservato

Specific Rules for Each Instrument:

Jump to a specific instrument:

Inova-400 (Room 44)

This instrument is typically used for indirect detection experiments. As a result, this instrument is "normally" reserved for shorter slots with respect to the Mercury machine.

Mercury-400 (Room 61)
